LAC Blessings: Hanna #3

The modern press is legendary for creating the iconic “fifteen minutes of fame” then forgetting the individual and their achievements as they rush on to the next breaking story.

In all probability, that is what King Xerxes expected to do for Mordecai.  A robe, an announcement, some gold coins and life would go on at the palace with no particular change.

God meticulously timed the morning episode with Haman and Mordecai to dovetail perfectly with the evening dinner.  In the emotional upheaval of the evening, Esther introduced Mordecai to the king and he became a permanent, significant player in the king’s court.  The king extended him vast favor and real, lasting change was implemented through him.

Pray for each of the Mordecais that God raises up in Canton Bern.  Let them have favor in addition to their visibility.  Many may not have enough formal education or experience to justify their taking the job, but with the hand of God on them, they can be received into the position God has designed them for.

I marvel at the wonder of how God designed the Mordecai’s before the foundation of the world to be perfectly suited to the modern world in which He intended to place them. I relish the joy He must feel in displaying His handiwork — a perfect match. Favor, visibility AND skill to boot. Nothing is to difficult for God.

Wasn’t it Paul who said not many wise, not many “strong,” are called but God uses the foolish to confound the wise and the weak to make the strong to stumble? I thank God that He is able to give grace to the weak and foolish in His Upside-Down Kingdom! May His Name be praised!

May righteousness be recognized as a stabilizing force, rather than being perceived as an oppressive one. May the goodness of integrity be more luminous than the appeal of charismatic intelligence.

  5. Just reading about these whiz-bang sunnies- not only are they polarised to suck out horizontal glare (!) but they claim to deal with the sun’s blue rays that seem to work differently than other colour rays. Apparently they can get ‘scattered’ causing haziness and dullness.
